These terms apply when you book and attend an appointment with The Clear Ear Room (Swindon). Please read them alongside our Cancellation policy and Privacy policy.
1. About us
The Clear Ear Room provides private ear wax removal by microsuction in Swindon, with our specialist Carrie. We are not a CQC-registered service; our treatment is provided at your own request as a wellbeing service, and we are trained and insured to carry it out.
2. Our service
We remove ear wax primarily by microsuction, and by warm-water irrigation where it is appropriate and safe. We will always examine your ears first. Your £20 deposit covers this initial check: if we find your ears are clear, or there is no reason to carry out the procedure, the £20 deposit is all there is to pay and there is nothing further. We may decline to treat, or recommend you see your GP or another healthcare professional, if we consider it is not safe or appropriate to proceed.
3. Booking & payment
- Appointments are booked for a specific time and last around 30 minutes.
- To hold your slot you pay a £20 deposit when you book. It covers your initial check and comes off your final bill; if your ears are clear or no procedure is needed, the £20 deposit is all you pay.
- Fees: £40 for one ear, £60 for both ears. There is no separate consultation fee.
- Out-of-hours appointments (£85) can be requested online; a member of staff confirms your time and date, and a £40 deposit holds the request.
- Home visits (£85) are available within 10 miles of our clinic and arranged directly with you. They require a non-refundable £40 deposit.
- Prices are confirmed at the time of booking.
4. Cancellations & rescheduling
Deposits are refundable if you cancel 3 or more days before your appointment. Full details are in our Cancellation policy.
5. Preparing for your appointment
Please soften the wax by using olive oil or Earol drops for 0 days before your appointment (never drops containing hydrogen peroxide) — this is why the earliest bookable date is 0 days ahead. See how to apply the drops. This makes treatment quicker, easier and more comfortable.
6. Your responsibilities
Please tell us about any relevant medical conditions, recent ear surgery, a perforated eardrum, an active ear infection, or anything else that might affect your treatment, both when booking and at your appointment. This helps us keep you safe.
7. Not a diagnosis
Our service is ear wax removal. It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have pain, discharge, sudden hearing loss or other concerns, please contact your GP or seek medical advice.
8. Liability
We carry out your treatment with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence). Otherwise our liability is limited to the fee you paid for the appointment.
9. Your information
We handle your personal and health information in line with our Privacy policy, including any before/after photographs taken with your consent.
10. Changes & contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page applies to your booking. Questions? Email bookings@ear-room.co.uk or call 07440 382502.
